I am a techno idiot, so if you want a review that goes in detail about gigs, jigs and migs, then this isn't it. If you want to know if this computer can obtain you online while on the road, listen to music, gape movies and impartial insensible rock your world, then I am your man. I pulled this thing out of the box about 2 weeks ago and fired it up. I bought a router so I could utilize it anywhere at home. I have had no issues with it and the fact is it is distinguished faster then my HP desktop. All preinstalled software works perfectly and the relate quality while watching video is perfect. The first night I had it I watched my DVD of Frosty Hand Luke on it and was fair amazed at the quality. Bottom line? I care for it!

HDD: 320GB is far more than most light home users will consume. I know few using more than 60GB. However anyone who plans on editing home movies will need more plot than this (and more memory, and a faster cpu...) .

Battery: 6 cell lithium ION. Stunning standard. Gives you about 2-3 hours of light utilize. If you order it custom from HP you can salvage an 8 cell. However if you are looking for worthy battery life you really don't want the G60 line. Study for something with a 14" explain and at least an 8 cell battery.

Wireless: Most notebooks from high to improper slay are using the same few wireless chipsets. This one is covers a wide wireless spectrum including the newest "Wireless N".

One thing you don't really study in the pictures on Amazon is that the top of the shell is very lustrous shadowy, and will easily demonstrate fingerprints, and will quite likely be susceptible to scratches, so perform definite you secure a satisfactory case if you want to fill its appearance. At the novel pricing, this thing is a consume (especially when you factor in the free upgrade to Windows 7, coming out this descend) .

The Expression is an awesome machine! I have no cons about the machine itself. About the cutting mat, if it's too sticky, press a natty t-shirt down on the mat & peel it up to seize some stickiness. If the mat has lost stickiness, wash thoroughly with dish soap (Goo Gone might be needed) and dry thoroughly. Spray with Krylon Easy-Tack, let the Krylon dry thoroughly and, if needed, press & peel a well-organized t-shirt to consume excess stickiness. Consume a lint roller after cutting especially "linty" paper and after each session with your Cricut. The mats will last a really, really long time this draw.

I'm obvious Provo Craft does not recommend doing anything other than buying unique mats, but those who've been using the Cricut since the beginning have found ways to work around the mat boom.

There are also software programs that are compatible with the Cricut that will allow you to slice the Right Type fonts installed on your computer. (Not Cricut Manufacture Studio, but other, non-Provo Craft programs such as Positive Cuts A Lot.) Google is your friend.

I wish Provo Craft would release their hold software that will allow Cricut users to gash their believe fonts, but it hasn't happened (despite begging from customers) .

Search the web for discussion boards with Cricut topics. There's a wealth of info out there, as well people who are angry about their machines and fervent to aid.

I first stale the Cricut Expression cutting machine at a weekend scrapbooking retreat. My friend had recently purchased one and brought it along with several cartridges. I already have a sizzix with a few alphabets and other dies.

The Cricut is SOOOO mighty faster to consume than the sizzix. And the versatility you come by by being able to determine any size (from about.5" to 11.75" in .25" increments) is unbelievable. It really opens a whole modern world of possibilities. Most cartridges also have alternate versions of the alphabets as well such as italic, courageous, vast, etc. Or even being able to location the text inside a ticket or other object. Most cartridges also allow you to form a shadow of the letter with a different color for matting purposes wich really adds depth to the scrapbook page.

There are a few cons. First being the trace, not only is the machine itself VERY pricey, each cartridge will accelerate between 60 and 90 dollars pre-tax/shipping. This makes each novel phont or shape region a whole current investment.

Second con is how like a flash the cutting mat loses it's "sticky" over the course of that weekend retreat we had to disappear onto a second cutting mat and that had begun to lose adhesion as well. Without the stick the page will lag around during the cutting process ruining the letters. We resorted to using repositionable adhesive on the relieve of the paper to gain it stick to the mat. Definitely not ideal.

I unprejudiced ordered one for myself and am very enraged to commence using it.

I purchased the Cricut Expression after testing it with a friend that had unprejudiced purchased one. I exhaust it constantly! No more cutting out letters by hand for me!!! The letters are precisely chop without tearing. It also cuts designs, tags, and many more shapes too numerous to mention. I recently made Valentine Cards to allotment with friends using the cartridges that came with the machine and tried out the unusual color ink cartridges (purchased separately) . The lettering was well-kept incredible! The ink did not smudge and the letters were precisely drawn. A gigantic THANK YOU to this company for making my scrapbooking and card making easier!

The only downside was the $$$...however, if you do your homework by shopping around, you can place. I took a sale ad from a well known fabric store to a different local craft store that had the machine. Indecent and gaze, they honored the other store's sale ad! This saved me lots of $$$. I thought to pick most of the cartridges at our local discount store that has them for less $$. The finished product makes it worth the $$$.

I do not want to tell what all the other reviews have said. This is a quality compressor. In this day and age of plastic junk, I am surprised some of the reviews complained about wieght. The weight comes from steel, not plastic parts. The tanks are heavy steel as is the roll cage around the entire mechanism. The handle is in the center, so carrying it is well balanced.

The compressor is fair as unexcited as others picture. I have it in the corner of my workshop about 10 from me. The commence up instructions are easy and you are up and running in 20 minutes.

Why did I salvage this compressor? In sum, (1) I wanted a Suitable quality tool that was not Chineese junk, (2) I wanted at least 4 cfm for tools and (2) I did not want to exercise a fortune. There seems to be several classes or levels of compressor in the lower sign range. Unless you are getting a specialized mini-compressor objective for a exiguous brad gun, the $125-175 compressors are mostly junk: loud and rough. This Makita is in the next step up, with compressors in the $225 to 325 range. There are some Dewalt Emglo and others I looked at in this range. Most of this second tier are either made for unbiased for job sites or are impartial bigger cheaply made compressors.

I chose the Makita over the Dewalt for one reason: collected. The Dewalt is an honorable compressor, but you cannot exhaust it next to you in an exclosed shop -- its too loud.

So, I wanted a quality tool and one that could live in the shop next to me. The Makita does both in spades. It is a very well made exiguous compressor. The fit and carry out is mountainous. It has a dual personality: it works and looks huge in the corner of the shop AND is perfect for taking to a job area or the serve yard. Best of both worlds.

The compressor seems to live up to its specs. I have easily rush 3/8 and 1/2 bolt impact wrenches, a brad gun and a conclude nail gun, along with blow guns, etc. When I went to exhaust a Snap-On 7200 3/8" air ratchet, the performance was objective adequate. Then I read the spec for the ratchet and it calls for 4.5 cfm. The Makita is rated at 4.2. SO, you do have to sight the cfm ratings on tools: I am definite a 8 cfm jitterbug sander will not work. But then again, that is not the type of tool I wanted this for.

I have not owned a compressor is many years. I looked long and hard for the best of all worlds: quality, size, imprint, and cfm. As an advanced and serious home workshop dude, this review is not written for the pros. But for a serious homeowner that appreciates quality tools and needs a general purpose compressor, I enjoy I found the perfect compressor.

Lastly, no shop came end to Amazon on total stamp, in sizable fragment due to the free shipping.

I consider it's the best for the following:

A) This compressor unbiased purrs. People are amazed when it's running. Great rubber feet also succor prevent transmitting vibration to whatever it's sitting on, so no more vibrating boards.

B) Over-built compressor compared to tank size - so cycle times are very short - if using light-duty tools, it doesn't bustle remarkable anyway. Also runs draw more frosty than others - I'll keep those sear lines for my steak on the grill - not my forearm.

C) No leaks - holds its air pressure seemingly forever when turned off (not that you shouldn't release pressure when done using it) .

D) The air filter is a petite version of an old-time car air filter. For a unit that's going to be sitting on the ground amidst swirling construction dust, this is a mountainous plus.

E) It does indeed weigh in, but at least the fabricate is very compact. The frame wraps around and protects most of the primary stuff, so there are no lines, wires, etc. waiting to be snagged. The glaring exception is the air filter hanging off the side - I can recognize this part's going to be replaced at some point when I throw it in a truck bed. No scrape for shop exercise though.

Be forwarned - Makita's packaging designers always seem to rep it 90% just. In this case, the air filter is unbiased thrown in loose inside the box - mine broke one of the gauge glasses. If pressed, their warrantee dept. will send out miniature parts, but it's a PITA to accumulate a product this expedient only to have to fix it moral out of the box. Also - pay attention to the "break-in" plan - bustle it for @30 minutes with no load, start petcock, to seat the rings.

I needed a compressor to do up a fence, install mouldings and refinish my basement. After a TON of research, I settled on this Makita. I am very happy. It's smooth, very well built and easy to spend. So far I've rush a framing nailer and brad nailer with no problems.

I've read other reviews that articulate to the weight of this unit. Well, it's a compressor and they ARE heavy. That's unprejudiced how it is. Especially a high-quality compressor like this one. It's not a tinny fraction of junk and there's only plastic on it where it makes total sense - no where else. Makita also puts a NICE molded rubber handle on it that doesn't shift or proceed one bit. The thing's built like a tank and looks tall. I have yet to straggle a 15-Amp breaker with it.

Additional comments:

The finned discharge tubing on this thing is extraordinary - if you've never had your hand seared like a steak after touching discharge tubing on a compressor, you haven't truly felt distress. I've brushed the tubing with the motor running on this one (accidentaly) and where my hand normally would have STUCK, it was only warm. Very nice touch.

The tanks own fleet enough, and the gauges are really nice quality. The pressure regulator is pleasing easy to adjust once you pick up the hang of it.

Again, the noise level is salubrious. I can spend the compressor in my basement shop and can barely hear it running on the main level. I can have a glorious powerful normal conversation with it running 10 feet away in the same room.

If you're looking for a high-quality, oil-lube (don't know why anyone would go for a non-oil unit) compressor that will last for years, examine no further.

I recently purchased this sub for a Home Theater install. I usually expend smaller powered subs from "higher ruin" companies but wanted to try something different. NO body does bass like Cerwin Vega. We're running this sub with a 900 watt amp and an 80 Hz crossover. It moves an amazing amount of air and is well-behaved of damaging not only your ears but the room and furnishings contained within. I purchased this product for myself about 10 months ago. We store this TV inside when we are not camping, since we live in Las Vegas and the heat can slay unbiased about anything here. We have only ancient this to thought DVD's since were we camp there is no reception for TV anyway.
